Borrowing Costs on former PPOR

I recently rented out my home that I lived in for approximately one year. I was wondering if anyone knows if I could claim a deduction for borrowing costs apportioned since the day the property was rented out?

What if the old loan were extinguished prior to being rented out. Would those borrowing costs now be forgone and non-claimable or would they be added to the cost base upon sale?

I can’t seem to find any information on the above situations.

Any assistance you could provide would be great.
