Join the debate! Are real estate agents really as scaly as we’ve been led to believe? Tell us what’s on your mind and you could win a bottle of wine like lucky reader “Tony”

when I worked as an agent, I was always honest and upfront - the typical tension is between vendors who want the earth, and buyers who want to pay nothing - how to negotiate a meeting in the middle.

vendors want aggressive agents who will squeeze the last dollar and don't care how unscrupulous they might be to get top dollar - buyers want 'honesty' and like to act offended when a property on the market sells to someone else or for a higher price than they were wanting to pay.

agents are paid commissions by vendors - no sale, no dollar - so sorry to buyers who might imagine, wrongly, that agents are working for them.
