G'Day Your investment property forum,

I'm a first timer looking to purchase my first investment property and building a nice little portfolio. Looking for general tips and advice from some experienced investors. I am single no dependents with a total borrowing power of 450k. Would like to purchase an investment and also rent in an area I would like to live in. Is this possible?

Thanks!

    Hello!

There are a few things to consider:

    - location says all. If you'll end up hating your location, then it will cost you double the trouble. So be wise in picking a location.
    - make sure to choose the property that has the best price
    - do a bit of research about the market
    - get the help of property conveyancing solicitors to take care of the legal side of things. We have used BTF Lawyers before, and they're amazing.
    - Consider your long-term view
    - Manage your risks

I hope this helps. Best of luck. :)
