Erskineville is a typical inner city suburb.  Erskineville is situated only 5 minutes from the Sydney CBD.  Lots of character homes that were built many of them well over a 100 years ago, to house the factory workers.  Now those factory workers have left a long time and being replaced with professional people that work in the city.  Why is that so, because it is so close to the city.  Not only I mean if you are quite fit you could walk to the city, but you’ve got 2 train lines from Erskineville leading into the city.  It’s only a couple train stations from Central station.  Buses of course also access Erskineville to get you into town quite quickly.  Beautiful character homes, lovely streets, Erskineville Road is very much where the cafes are and number of schools in the area.  So, so far as services are concerned, it’s very well catered for.

Why buy in this suburb?

Why should you consider Erskineville.  Very close to the city and proximity to the city is a big driver of capital growth.  If you are an investor, plenty of opportunity for tenants.  You’ve got Sydney University nearby, you’ve got Royal Prince Alfred Hospital nearby and you have also got workers who work in the city looking to rent property close to the city.

Best streets to buy in

Areas to focus on in Erskineville.  The closer you are off Erskineville Road the better off you are, because that’s where all the cafes are.  Pleasant Avenue as the name would suggest would have to be one of the best streets in Erskineville, but also one of the more expensive streets in Erskineville.  Bray, Knight and Devine Streets are also very good streets to focus on in Erskineville.

Streets to avoid

Areas to avoid in Erskineville, the Ashfield Industrial Estate is situated there in Erskineville, so give that a miss.  And also buying too close or adjacent to one of the two train lines in Erskineville.
