Having worked in real estate for more than a decade, Margaret Kneebone has battled her way up the ranks in a male-dominated industry, weathered cyclical ups and downs, including the GFC, and is today an accomplished real estate sales consultant.

So what is it that fuels her passion for property?

Being able to bond with her children while preparing them for the future, she says.

“My daughter and I have always been really close. When she was interested in purchasing an investment property, my working in the industry helped her with the process immensely,” Margaret says.

“We talked continuously throughout it, going over it step by step. I am very proud of her – her knowledge of the process has grown so much.”

The family doesn’t forget to enjoy the present, though, as they look forward to recharging while on holiday.

“When you are on call 24/7 like I am, you need to have a goal to work towards. I see my holidays as rewards for the long hours I have put into my career – it is so important to stop and smell the roses, to ensure you can keep performing!”

The best investment I have made has been with my children … the advice and knowledge I have passed on to them is that they are never too young to invest. They will build a portfolio that most people will wait until later in life to start on.”
