As a property lecturer at TAFE SA, Peter Koulizos knows the value of a good education better than anyone.

Peter has been surrounded by property since he was a boy and first began renovating when he grew impatient waiting for property prices to increase organically.

“My family has been investing for quite a long time, so I grew up with property investing in my blood,” he says.

Koulizos has spent the past 30 years building a portfolio, and has since taken this expertise into his role as the coordinator of Property and Share Investment at TAFE SA. Ultimately, he considers his best investment to be his education, which has enabled him to combine his passions of teaching and wealth building.

“My first degree was an education degree, which enables me to teach and earn a living. My postgraduate degree in property has helped me to better understand investing in residential and commercial property,” Koulizos explains.

His master’s degree in urban and regional planning has not only enhanced his teaching ability but also his investment savvy. He’s embarked on several developments and renovations and is keen to explore more of these projects in the future.

“This is obvious coming from a lecturer,” he says, “but lifelong learning has held me in good stead.”
