AT A GLANCE

Favourite investment: 2-bed, 2-bath, high-end apartment in East Perth, WA

First property purchase: 2001

Price paid: $435,000 (sold for $800,000)

Since starting her property investment journey in 2001, Real Wealth Australia's Helen Collier-Kogtevs has risen quickly through the ranks of the industry. Over the years, she has made many brilliant deals, including her favourite investment property to date – a high-end apartment in East Perth.

Not only did she manage to get a significant discount off the asking price but the property was also positively geared from day one.

"It eventually sold for nearly double the purchase price during Perth’s boom."

Collier-Kogtevs ultimately aims to use her property wealth to support a lifestyle that involves lots of travel time with the family; her bucket list of countries visited so far includes India, Dubai, Estonia and Finland.

“I love to travel with my family and friends, enjoying time together and having new experiences. I really enjoyed taking my daughter to visit the real Santa Claus at Santa’s Village in Finland. It was a magic moment,” she says.

Collier-Kogtevs has a passion for educating others and wants to leave a legacy that makes a lasting difference.

“My charity SHaRM Foundation was set up to build school buildings in Vanuatu so that the kids can have a brighter future”

(Collier-Kogtevs co-founded the SHaRM Foundation in 2015 after seeing the devastation caused by Cyclone Pam)
