Named for Frank Forde, who was Australia’s prime minister for one week in 1945, the suburb of Forde in Canberra’s northern area is a wide open green space that puts the spotlight on greenery.

The suburb recorded a massive 100% boost in stock levels, with the number of houses going from 18 in February 2018 to 41 in February 2019. However, at the same time, prices may be starting to ease up, as values were flat in the three months to February 2019.

Forde has over 10 parks, and a large chunk of the suburb is taken up by wetlands and nature reserves. Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve is considered one of the best bird-watching sites in the state. Nature aside, Forde also has many excellent amenities, like the Burgmann Anglican school, shops, cafes and a local pool.
