Tenambit is a small suburb on the fringes of Maitland, in NSW’s Hunter Region. It is roughly 40km from Newcastle and 166km from Sydney.
Most of the residents in the area are employed either in Maitland or Newcastle, with nearby historic town Morpeth another minor employment hub, thanks to its fashion boutiques, cafes and speciality shops. The suburb is also close to the now closed Maitland Gaol, which housed some of Australia’s most notorious criminals. It is now one of the area’s biggest tourist attractions.
Auction clearance rates are currently highly favourable in the suburb – at 80% – indicating strong demand. Vacancies are super tight at 0.62% and the low level of stock on market, 1.76% of properties in the area, suggests there is high demand and low supply.
