Home to the Royal Darwin Hospital, Tiwi is 11km north of the Darwin CBD and adjacent to the Dripstone Park coastal reserve.
The Charles Darwin University is close by in Brinkin, and a sizeable shopping centre is in nearby Casuarina. Like the rest of northern Darwin, the only public transport options to the CBD are via bus.
Seventy-one per cent of properties in the suburb are separate houses, and median prices compare favourably to nearby Rapid Creek, and Nakara.
Land parcels are quite large within Tiwi, with many houses often residing on 800m2 or more. This suggests subdivision or development potential.
