The Germans who originally settled in this Adelaide suburb gave it its moniker – fitting, given that Klemzig was the first German immigrant hub in the country.
Since then, it has become a hub for young families, primarily because of the presence of several schools in the vicinity, including Klemzig Primary School, Marden Senior College south of the suburb, Vale Park Primary School and Felixstow Community School. The Marden shopping centre is nearby as well.
