Australia’s capital cities will see a combined total of 2,050 auctions this week according to figures from CoreLogic RP Data.
It’s a similar total to last week where 2,076 auctions where held across the nation’s capitals, but vendors will be hoping for a stronger performance after last week’s final clearance rate came in at 75.9%, the
softest result across the combined capital cities since March this year.
Melbourne is set to lead the way in terms of auction volumes with 959 scheduled for the week.
That figure is up on the 947 held last week and the 946 held during the same week last year.
The Victorian capital will hope it’s clearance rate also increase after last week’s rate of 77.7% was the lowest recorded in the city in nine weeks.
This week has seen a small decline in volumes in Sydney, with 799 auctions this week compared to 816 last week.
Sydney’s clearance rate was down last week, falling to 83.4% from 88.7% for the preceding week.
Sydney’s year to date clearance rate is 84.9%, while over the same period last year, the clearance rate for the city was tracking at 75%, though auction volumes are lower this year.
Brisbane is expecting 114 auctions this week, down from last week’s total of 135, and will be hoping to improve on the 45.5% clearance rate it returned last week.
There are currently 76 Adelaide
homes scheduled for auction this week, slightly lower than the 87 last week and tracking at a similar level as the same time last year when 74 auctions were held.
Adelaide’s clearance rate last week was 58.7%, having fallen from 71.2% the previous week.
Canberra has 51 scheduled auctions this week, compared to 53 last week and 35 at the same time last year.
, 40 homes are set for auction over the current week, increasing from 32 last week and slightly lower than the 45 held a year ago.
