The property search engine part-owned by the Australian real estate institutes has acquired one of its competitor websites.
RealestateVIEW.com.au, which is a joint venture between the real estate institutes of Australia and a number of real estate agents, announced that it has bought rival site myhome.com.au from PBL.
RealestateVIEW.com.au general manager Petra Sprekos believes the acquisition will "substantially increase content" on the site, particularly in terms of listings from New South Wales and Queensland.
"This adds to the recent launch of realestateVIEW.com.au in New South Wales and the content-sharing arrangement with www.reiwa.com," said Sprekos. "RealestateVIEW.com.au and myhome.com.au will continue to operate concurrently and share content."
RealestateVIEW.com.au is the third-largest portal in Australia, and lists over 160,000 properties online.
