Victorian house hunters can now access local property price information before making an offer, thanks to a new internet resource.

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has launched www.latestsales.com.au, which gives subscribers access to the data used by real estate agents.

For $19.95, residential house hunters can now find the 50 most recent transactions in their street, suburb or municipality, giving house hunters “a valuable insight into property prices and trends,” according to REIV CEO Enzo Raimondo.

“In the current fast-moving property market, understanding how prices have changed is essential,” he said. “The REIV represents over 1,800 real estate agencies and is the provider of auction and private sales results to Melbourne’s major newspapers each week, so [it] is well placed to provide the public with the most recent, accurate and comprehensive results.”

Available through the Real Estate industry portal www.realestateview.com.au, Latest Sales will produce a report based on the most recent transactions in your street, suburb or postcode.

“The report will include the address of the property, date of sale, sale price, and attribute information including the number of bedrooms and land area,’ said Raimondo.

“Equipped with this information a house hunter can make a more educated assessment about the value of their house or a house they’re interested in purchasing.”
