According to Real Estate Investar, the vacancy rate in Leppington has nearly doubled in the last year and is now sitting at 6.15%, compared to 3.88% a year ago.

Prices in the suburb haven’t been performing too well either, though there are some signs the suburb is beginning to turn around.

The median house price sits at $721,000, having fallen by 31% in the past five years, though it is up 15% in the last year.

While conditions in Leppington may not have been as strong in recent years as they have been in other areas of Sydney’s west, this may be due to the fact that the suburb has been the focus of state government attention recently.

In late 2015, the NSW Government extensively rezoned the suburb and announced that around 9,000 new homes would be built in the area over the next five years.Close
