Just under two hours’ drive south of Sydney, units in the coastal township of Gerringong have shown some life in recent years.Full summary Just under two hours’ drive south of Sydney, units in the coastal township of Gerringong have shown some life in recent years.

The median unit price currently hovers at just under $500,000, having jumped a very respectable 55% in the past five years.

A shortage of stock may have helped that price rise; however, that has likely been alleviated somewhat since the completion of a number of projects in the centre of town.

While Gerringong may be considered just a coastal getaway by many, the township of around 4,000 people has plenty to offer.

Gerringong train station links the town to regional centres such as Wollongong and Nowra, while nearly $1bn has been spent in recent years on upgrading the Princes Highway.

Other popular tourist towns such as Kiama and Berry are also a short drive away.Close
