An outer suburb of Palmerston, Marlow Lagoon has a rural feel and huge, well-maintained blocks, yet residents do not have to trade convenience since Darwin is just a 15 minute drive to the east. This is one of the preferred spots for those that need to be close to Darwin, but what a little more space to roam as lot sizes average around a whopping 6,000m2.
With all that space, the suburb is also the site of a remarkable nature reserve and park facility that includes an actual lagoon. With flowering lilies in the lagoon and wide green spaces, the park is a favourite wedding spot among local couples.
“All you have to do is drive through and you know you’re in a very up-market neighbourhood,” says Real Estate Agent Rick Trippe of Knight Frank NT. “If you want something that has a little bit of elbow space, it is perfect. And on top of that there is no problem getting into town and you’re a stones-throw from Palmerston shopping centers.”
Trippe says that Marlow Lagoon is increasingly benefitting from the growth in the Palmerston area because it is geographically isolated enough to stay private, but residents are beginning to appreciate the new range of shops, restaurants and good schools.
