Auction markets across Australia have recorded robust levels of activity over the weekend, figures from CoreLogic show.

Capital cities hosted 2,876 auctions over the weekend, which returned a preliminary success rate of 80.4%. These numbers were significantly higher than the preceding weekend's 2,087 auction volume and final clearance rate of 77.2%.

Of all capital cities, Sydney registered the biggest jump in activity, with auction volume increasing from 794 to 1,121, 83.5% of which turned into a sale.

Melbourne was the busiest capital city, hosting 1,277 auctions over the weekend. Of the results collected, 77.1% were successful.

Perth hit the highest clearance rate at 92.3%, although only for an auction volume of 22.

Canberra also reported a strong clearance rate of 90.6% for 120 auctions.

Auction activity surged across capital cities over the previous weekend, with Melbourne reporting the highest auction volume and Perth registering the strongest clearance rate.
