The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) revealed Perth’s top five rental suburbs amongst young adults aged 20 to 29.

First on the list is Northbridge, which has a median rent price of $390. Its proximity to the Perth train station is one of the reasons why it remains popular amongst young adults, which comprise 35% of its population.

"With something to do at every hour of the day, this vibrant suburb offers endless bars, shops, cafes, restaurants, and gyms," said Sjanna Sandalova, media specialist at REIWA.

West Perth is also a go-to suburb for renters due to its accessibility. Around 30% of its population belong to the 20-29 age group. It has a median weekly rent price of $400.

"West Perth offers a diverse range of aesthetic properties, from old-style cottages to modern, simple living apartments and townhouses which are increasingly popular among young professionals," Sandalova said.

Scarborough, a coastal suburb, is also on the list. With a median rent price of $410, Sandalova said it remains a hotspot for young adults looking to rent a home.

"Scarborough has it all, amazing white-sandy beaches, rooftop and coastal bars along with endless things to do and see," Sandalova said." Scarborough's recent urban growth and development has seen the suburb expand and gain popularity from everyone chasing that ultimate beach lifestyle.
